- After serving as an English teacher in Taiwan, Thailand, and Turkey, I obtained a doctorate degree from the University of Birmingham and then in 2012 became a lecturer and a specially appointed associate professor in the Department of Media and Communication and Foreign Languages, Hokkaido University. On completion of my contract with Hokkaido University in 2020, I started teaching in the Department of International Liberal Arts at Hokkaido Bunkyo University.

Message
People recognize the world through language. I study the misunderstandings and conflicts of people of different cultures and religions by analyzing the language they use. I have published papers analyzing the discourse of Christians, Muslims, and Buddhists from different parts of the world. My current research involves a comparison of Christian mystical language and Buddhist language.
